Frequently Asked Questions
Generic Questions
What is bedazzling?
Bedazzling, rhinestoning, strassing, crystallizing... it's all the same! Bedazzling is embellishing an item with rhinestones by hand.
What types of items can you bedazzle?
I often say "it's not what I can bedazzle, it's how do we bedazzle it!" I've created tons of different projects on different materials of all shapes and sizes. If you are unsure whether the item you're wanting can be bedazzled, please contact me directly.
How much does it cost?
Crystallizing is an art and the cost is dependent on several factors, namely:
- How big is the item being rhinestoned?
- How complex is the design?
- How many colors and sizes of rhinestones are needed?
- What fill pattern is preferred?
- Are there special conditions to be considered?
- How will the item be handled? (I.e. is it for display, occasional use, regular use?)

Is bedazzling difficult?
It certainly is an art that requires skill and patience! I've been rhinestoning since 2007, carefully honing my skills. Over the years I have made plenty of mistakes and learned a lot, so that now as a master rhinestone artist I can create exceptional art for my clients.
Are the rhinestones permanent?
Crystallizing is designed to be a PERMANENT modification to the item crystallized. If you are trying to remove rhinestones that we have applied, there is NO GUARANTEE on our end that you will be able to restore the item to its original condition.
Materials
What kind of rhinestones do you use?
I will use whatever the client prefers and what works best in their budget! I prefer to use premium glass rhinestones as resin rhinestones or "jelly" rhinestones tend to lose their shape (and therefore do not refract light) over time - I have found that glass rhinestones maintain their brilliance with time.
What kind of glue do you use?
This depends largely on the material. For more information, please request a quote.
Can you bedazzle clothing?
Yes, we can rhinestone your favorite clothing, shoes, purses, and more! Please reach out directly for an accurate price and time quote.
Design Process
What information should I provide to the artist about my project?
As much detail as possible! We will ask details about the size of the item, size of rhinestones, design complexity, and any specific requests or preferences you have. We will also discuss the budget and timeline for the project.
What are fill patterns?
Fill patterns are the design by which we will "fill" the item surface with crystals. There are a few main fill patterns:
Grid: Exactly as it sounds - rhinestones follow a strict grid. There is minor gaps visible between rhinestones.
Honeycomb: Rhinestones are arranged to follow a grid, but on a diagonal. This minimizes gaps visible between rhinestones.
Sprinkle: A mix of sizes of rhinestones to fill an area. This has the smallest amount of visible gaps between rhinestones, but is the most expensive of basic fills.
Contour: This fill follows the shape of an item, or the "contour."
Creation + Delivery
How long does it take to bedazzle?
This depends largely on the item that we're working on, prep needed, size of rhinestones, complexity of design, our availability, and of course, your timeline! For an accurate idea of how long it takes to bedazzle an item, please request a quote on our website.
How do you bedazzle?
Aftercare + Handling
Handling and care of your item will depend largely on what the item is, how it was prepped, etc. Your artist will notify you upon delivery of your item how to care for it for long-lasting shine and brilliance!
How durable are bedazzled items?
We take great care in the crystallizing process to ensure we deliver the most durable product for your use. Our goal is that when the product leaves our hands, crystals should NOT be easy to remove. Over time, adhesive will naturally begin to break down - that process can be accelerated with UV exposure, oil exposure, and more. Taking good care of the item will help extend its longevity.
How do you care for bedazzled items?
What should I avoid to help prolong the life of my rhinestoned item?
Over time, adhesive will naturally begin to break down - that process can be accelerated with UV exposure, oil exposure, and more. Taking good care of the item will help extend its longevity.
Can you remove rhinestones from an item?
With great care, you can remove rhinestones from an item. This may require a process whereby the crystals are removed and the adhesive is sanded down or a solvent is used to remove the adhesive.
Please note: crystallizing is designed to be a PERMANENT modification to the item crystallized, so if you are trying to remove rhinestones, there is NO GUARANTEE on our end that you will be able to restore the item to its original condition.
